Eon Rush Studios is an independent developer based in Malta, founded by veteran gamers and creators who believe true quality comes from dedication and integrity. Their passion for meaningful, skill-driven gameplay inspired them to create Eon Rush, a title that embodies their vision of challenging players to grow and connect through shared battles.
Eon Rush is a co-op action RPG where the thrill of end-game PvE and PvP is immediate and accessible. Players select from a roster of powerful heroes and battle through space and time, confronting colossal beasts, trials, and gauntlets in an ever-evolving universe of stylized intensity.
Thunder Cloud Studio partnered as the exclusive game art partner, working as a true extension of their in-house team, supporting full-cycle production across character, environment, and in-engine integration.
The project includes the entire main character lineup designed in 3D, each fully modeled, rigged, and animated with multiple animation sets and VFX, following a structured, asset-ready 3D game animation pipeline. Alongside this is a large library of game-ready assets, 3D environment modeling, and Unity optimization. Since the collaboration began in 2022, it has evolved into a long-term partnership rooted in trust, efficient workflows, and consistently high-quality AAA output.
The Thunder Cloud team played a vital role in helping Eon Rush Studios meet their development milestones, including the successful showcase of their first gameplay demo at Gamescom 2023.

Behind the Project
Thunder Cloud Studio acted as the main creative production force for Eon Rush. While the client handled the early concept art and visual mood boards, our team brought these ideas to life through complete 3D production and engine integration optimization.
The art direction centered on a stylized, top-down camera view, with environments and characters representing three distinct eras: the Primal Era, the Magic Era, and the Technology Era. Each period reflects a unique atmosphere, from lush gardens and mystical ruins to techno-magical fortresses merging glass, steel, and stone.
Thunder Cloud Studio’s artists worked closely with Eon Rush to ensure every element aligned with this vision. The result was a visually coherent and high-performing game world that balanced artistic expression with gameplay clarity, embodying the studio’s goal of delivering high-quality art production through seamless creative collaboration.
How it Goes
Once the Eon Rush Studios team provided technical specs and model sheets, Thunder Cloud began production with a pilot batch of characters. After testing and validation, the unified standards were applied to full-scale production.
Using Maya, Substance 3D Painter, Houdini, and Unity, the Thunder Cloud team handled character modeling, animation, VFX, and environments. Each hero, boss, and creep featured multiple animation sets.
To maintain consistency and saving production time, the team enhance the 3D character, environment modelling, scalable 3D animation pipelines that have been refined throughout years of experience. Despite the challenge of balancing quality and Unity performance, careful QA and profiling ensured smooth gameplay and visual fidelity.
