One of the significant milestones in the collaboration with Scopely is the success of Thunder Cloud in participating in Monopoly GO project – a flagship mobile game in 2023 of Scopely.

Monopoly GO achieved the milestone of being the biggest mobile game release in 2023, with over 100 million downloads.

By November 2023, Monopoly Go generated more than $1 billion in revenue, becoming the biggest mobile game launch of 2023. Scopely also added that Monopoly Go is bringing in more than $200 million every month for the company. By March 2024, the game generated $2 billion in revenue just 10 months after launch and three months after hitting $1 billion. The game also had a marketing budget of nearly $500 million.

Thunder Cloud is honored to be part of Monopoly GO since the very first days of the project. Serving as the primary supplier, Thunder Cloud undertook a significant workload with full cycle, from crafting the initial concept to developing the detailed map, creating engaging characters, and animating the introductory trailer, as well as designing event wallpapers.

Monopoly GO!’s success is attributed not only to retaining the classic game elements but also to vibrant graphics and continuous updates.

A captivating challenge of this project was each map, building, and corner of the environment would tell different stories,  allowing users to observe any corner and speculate on the stories behind the them.
