This exciting and educational event was free-of-charge and open to all those who are interested in modern 3D Animation technology as well as the broader picture of Vietnam’s promising animation scene. At the event, audience had open and direct conversations with experienced professionals on various matters concerning the techniques and development of 3D animation. The highlight was the presentation on methods of making 3D Animation using Unreal Engine 4, presented by no other than our Thunder Cloud representative and Founder, Mr. Phung Dinh Dung.
As one of the leading studios in 3D Animation in Vietnam, Thunder Cloud felt the responsibility and urges to stand at the forefront of Vietnam’s Animation scene and actively assume the role of assisting the young generation’s growth while leading by example. We chose to share our experience and method precisely because we have seen that our method was both efficient and low-cost, which could make it the optimum solution for many Vietnamese animators and game makers at the moment. Together with our partner VTCA, we were determined to put every effort into preparation for this event to ensure the conference was a huge success and the participant could benefit as much from the experience as possible. The conference was not only a place of learning, sharing and inspiring, but also an excellent networking opportunity for all participants.
Our demonstration on the technology and working pipelines was based largely on the making-process of Painted Flower – Thunder Cloud’s very first short film and also Vietnam’s first 3D Virtual Reality Animation. True to our principle of “leading by example,” the film has also been very successful and warmly received both in Vietnam’s animation scene and in international professional communities: It has been selected for screening at multiple Film Festivals this year, including SPARK ANIMATION Vancouver, Canada, Lahore Film Festival Pakistan, Anymasyro 9.0, Greece, where it is also selected among the “Best of Anymasyro 9.0”, and China Short Film Festival in Shenzhen, as well as featured on several media channels. The film was screened in 2D at the event as demonstration for the kind of results our production method could created, which seems to have persuaded most of the audience.
Participants coming to the conference also had the chance to experience first-hand VR technology – which, was still very new in Vietnam – at a special counter. Our speakers also received and answered numerous questions from enthusiastic young 3D artists/ animator, making the occasion truly a place of sharing and of earnest passion for the 3D art.
The event concluded as a big success – and surely more are to come in the continuity of our Thunder Mentor campaign. Follow us to stay up-to-date with our activities at:
